Comes off COVID-19 list
The 49ers activated Gould (undisclosed) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Gould missed the 49ers' regular-season finale after landing on the list, where he resided for 15 days. It was never disclosed whether or not the 38-year-old kicker tested positive for COVID--19, but now that he's in the clear, he'll enter the offseason the recent recipient of a two-year extension. In 15 games this season, Gould nailed 19 of 23 field-goal attempts and 36 of 38 point-after tries, equating to 6.2 points per game (24th among kickers with at least 15 appearances).

Lands on COVID list
The 49ers placed Gould (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Gould's placement on the list means that he's either tested positive for the virus or been deemed a close contact of an infected person or persons. His availability for the regular-season finale against Seattle is thus in question. Gould earned some extra financial security earlier Wednesday, when he and the 49ers agreed to terms on a two-year, $7.25 million contract extension.

Extends deal with Niners
Gould agreed Wednesday with the 49ers on a two-year, $7.25 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The extension is fully guaranteed and locks Gould in with the 49ers through 2022, his age-40 season. Though Gould endured a rough outing in the 49ers' Week 16 win over the Cardinals -- he missed an extra-point attempt and field-goal tries from 41 and 37 yards -- the veteran kicker largely has been dependable since joining the 49ers in 2017. Over four seasons in the Bay Area, Gould has converted 88.4 percent of his field goals and 95 percent of his extra points.

Worst outing this season
Gould went 0-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-3 on extra-point tries in Saturday's 20-12 win over Arizona.
Analysis: It was an uncharacteristically rough outing for the normally sure-footed Gould. It was especially disappointing for the veteran kicker considering that neither attempt was particularly difficult (missed from 37 and 41 yards out), and none of his three misses were the result of poor snaps or blocked kicks. Prior to Saturday's forgettable performance, Gould had been a reliable 90 percent on field-goal attempts (19-for-21) with his only two misses coming from 50-plus yards. Fantasy managers should…read more

Nine points in loss
Gould went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 on point-after tries in Sunday's 41-33 loss to Dallas.
Analysis: Gould bounced back in a big way after not receiving any field-goal chances Week 14. Next week's opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, possess a stronger defense than the lowly Cowboys, but they aren't dominant either. Gould should be his usual high-floor, low-ceiling kicking option in Week 16.

No FG attempts in loss
Gould did not attempt a field goal and went 1-for-1 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 23-15 loss to Washington.
Analysis: It was a terrible game script for Gould's fantasy managers, as the 49ers could not get anything going offensively after an early touchdown. With a big deficit in the second half, the team bypassed any potential field goals in favor of going for it on fourth down. The veteran kicker couldn't even cash in on the team's second touchdown as they had to go for two to keep pace with Washington. Gould and the 49ers' offense as a whole will have a better chance to put up points in a much softer matchup…read more

Hits from 45 yards out
Gould nailed his lone field-goal attempt from 45 yards out and went 3-for-3 on extra-point tries in Monday's 34-24 loss to Buffalo.
Analysis: Gould didn't get a whole lot of usage as the 49ers struggled to move the ball into Buffalo's territory outside of one drive in the first half. The offense finally woke up in the second half, but it was either a touchdown or a Nick Mullens interception when San Francisco entered Bills territory. Sunday's matchup between the 49ers and the Washington Football team projects to have a closer score, which could benefit Gould in terms of field-goal attempts if the offense isn't forced to go for it on…read more

Hits game-winning FG
Gould went 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-2 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Rams.
Analysis: Gould capped off an 11-point performance with a 42-yard field goal as time expired to secure victory for the 49ers. The veteran's lone miss came from 50 yards out in the second quarter, and his only two failed field-goal attempts have been from 50 or more yards out (2-for-4 on 50-plus and 16-for-18 overall). San Francisco received a shot in the arm with the returns of Deebo Samuel and Raheem Mostert, which bodes well for the offense's overall point potential, and, in turn, Gould's fantasy value…read more

Two field goals in loss
Gould went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and converted his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Gould was held to just one field goal over his previous two games, so the multi-score outcome was a welcome one for his fantasy managers who have been starving for points recently. The 49ers may receive some much-needed reinforcements at multiple positions on offense following the upcoming bye week, which would only improve Gould's scoring chances heading into a Week 12 matchup against the Rams.

Five points in loss
Gould nailed his lone field-goal attempts (22 yards) and went 2-for-2 on extra-point tries in Thursday's 34-17 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Gould's field goal has to be considered a win for fantasy owners when you consider how big the 49ers fell behind in this one. The veteran kicker remains accurate (100 percent on nonblocked kicks), but he has just one field-goal attempt over his last two games due to the battered 49ers' offense. Fantasy owners may want to explore other options at this point.

No FG attempts
Gould did not attempt a field goal in Sunday's 37-27 loss to Seattle. He went 3-for-3 on extra-point tries.
Analysis: San Francisco fell behind early in this contest, forcing the offense to adopt an aggresive gameplan and go for it on fourth down more often, bypassing potential field-goal opportunities. In addition to losing the game, the 49ers lost their starting quarterback, running back and tight end to injury in one fell swoop. With so many question marks surrounding this offense, Gould's fantasy stock takes a big hit heading into a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Packers.

Back on track with nine points
Gould went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-4 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 33-6 win over New England.
Analysis: Gould was finally given an opportunity to hit multiple field goals in a game for the first time since Week 3. The 37-year-old did miss his first PAT of the year, but the fault should be placed on the blocking unit who allowed a defender through to block the kick. The 49ers' offense has picked things up over the last couple weeks, which bodes well for Gould's scoring opportunities heading into a favorable matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday.

Six points on SNF
Gould converted his lone field-goal attempt from 49 yards out while going 3-for-3 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Rams.
Analysis: The 49ers' offense came back to life after an embarrassing showing last week. Unfortunately, the game script still didn't provide a whole lot of scoring opportunities for Gould. The veteran leg is 8-for-9 on field-goal attempts through six games, only missing once from beyond 50 yards. The volume hasn't been there, but Gould remains one of the more accurate kickers in the league heading into a road matchup against the Patriots on Sunday.

Just one FG attempt in loss
Gould converted his lone field-goal attempt from 37 yards out and went 2-for-2 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 43-17 loss to the Dolphins.
Analysis: The 49ers have been decimated by injuries this season, resulting in an ugly couple weeks from the team as a whole. Gould's fantasy value has been limited during this cold spell, but he has remained consistent when called upon. With another week to heal up, perhaps the team gets back on track in the scoring department in a primetime matchup against the Rams on Sunday.

No FG attempts on SNF
Gould did not attempt a field goal and went 2-for-2 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: The 49ers' offense sputtered for the first time this season, resulting in an empty fantasy line for Gould. The veteran leg has been reliable when called upon this year (6-for-7 on field-goal attempts and 11-for-11 on point-after tries), so there will always be potential for value so long as the offense puts him in position to score. Look for the entire unit to bounce back in a favorable matchup against Miami on Sunday.

Misses first kick this year
Gould went 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts and a perfect 3-for-3 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 36-9 victory over the Giants.
Analysis: Gould suffered his first miss four weeks into the season, shanking a 55-yard attempt wide right in the whipping winds at MetLife Stadium. The silver lining here is that the 37-year-old converted his other attempt from 50-plus yards Sunday, bringing him up to 2-for-3 from that range after going 0-for-4 in 2019. It appears that Gould still has some distance in his leg to complement his excellent accuracy. The 49ers' offense hasn't slowed down since losing multiple key players Week 2, and the…read more

Scores seven points in victory
Gould converted his lone field-goal attempt (46 yards) and went 4-for-4 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-13 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Gould continued his clean start to the 2020 season and is now 3-for-3 on field-goal tries and 6-for-6 on point-after attempts. The 49ers lost some key players in an injury-riddled victory, but the veteran leg remains a safe option in a soft matchup against the Giants on Sunday.

Perfect in 2020 debut
Gould went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-2 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-20 loss to Arizona.
Analysis: Gould picked up where he left off in 2019, when he finished the season going 17-for-18 on field-goal tries. The 37-year-old even hit from 50-plus, a range he went 0-for-4 on during the 2019 regular season. Gould's accuracy combined with the 49ers' ability to consistently move the ball into opponent's territory make him a strong fantasy option. A favorable matchup against the Jets is on tap for Week 2.

Considering wind in empty stadiums
Gould expressed in an interview with Good Morning Football that playing in empty stadiums during the 2020 season could impact the wind kickers have to deal with.
Analysis: Gould suggested that the wind swirls more without fans in attendance, which could potentially make long-distance kicks even more difficult this upcoming campaign. While that could be an interesting development for all kickers to consider depending on the attendance policies as this year unfolds, Gould personally will be aiming to rebound from a 2019 season that saw him miss eight of his 31 field-goal attempts as well as an extra-point try in 13 games played.

Takes step back in 2019
Gould went 23-for-31 on field-goal attempts and 41-for-42 on point-after tries in 13 games during the 2019 regular season.
Analysis: Gould had a rough start to the 2019 season after finishing 2018 as the most accurate kicker in the league. The 36-year-old missed seven kicks over his first six contests (12-for-19), and then he went down to injury Week 9 in what appeared to be a disastrous campaign. Undrafted rookie Chase McLaughlin filled in admirably during Gould's three-week absence, which put the veteran's status as starter in jeopardy. Perfect in Week 17
Gould went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts (30, 47 yards) and 2-for-2 on point-after tries in Sunday's 26-21 win over Seattle.
Analysis: Gould remained perfect on field-goal attempts for the fourth straight week, going 9-for-9 over that span. The 37-year-old appeared to take a step back with a shaky start to the 2019 campaign, but his strong finish to the year restored faith in fantasy owners. Nails game-winning kick
Gould went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 4-for-4 on point-after tries in Saturday's 34-31 win over the Rams.
Analysis: It was only a 33-yard attempt, but Gould split the uprights as time expired to seal the victory for San Francisco on Saturday. The 36-year-old has turned in two perfect kicking performances over the last three weeks and has been far better recently -- 8-for-9 on FGAs and 13-for-14 on PATs over the last four weeks -- after a rough start to the season. Misses first extra point
Gould was a perfect 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and went 1-for-2 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 29-22 loss to Atlanta.
Analysis: Gould turned in his first perfect performance when attempting three or more field goals this season. The veteran kicker still had a blemish when he shanked his first PAT. Gould has been better overall since returning from injury (6-for-7 on field-goal tries), making him a worthy option against a soft Rams defense Saturday.

Scores 12 points in shootout
Gould went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts (30, 41) and 6-for-6 on point-after tries in Sundays 48-46 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Gould put the bow on an incredible comeback victory for San Francisco with a clutch field goal as time expired in New Orleans. This was surprisingly the first clean multi-attempt game for the veteran this season. The 36-year-old is coming off of three consecutive seasons of 95 percent or higher field-goal accuracy, but he sits at just 67 percent (16-for-24) over 10 games. Suffers blocked kick in loss
Gould (quadriceps) went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-2 on point-after tries in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Gould returned from a three-week injury layoff and did not appear to be hampered by his quadriceps. The veteran's lone miss came from 51 yards -- he is now 0-for-4 on kicks over 50 yards -- but the kick had enough leg and only went wide due to being slightly deflected by Marlon Humphrey's finger. Gould should be considered a safe play in a dome against the Saints on Sunday.

Gould (quadriceps) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Packers, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Gould last took part in practice Nov. 7, missing two contests in the process. According to Wagoner, Gould was spotted kicking on a side field Friday, so he may be making some progress through his strained right quadriceps. Week 10 status could be in danger
Gould is dealing with a quad strain that could impact his status for Monday night's game against the Seahawks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: With that in mind, the 49ers are signing fellow kicker Chase McLaughlin, a move that underlines the team's concern about Gould's Week 10 status. Given the team's Monday night kickoff, those who had been planning to use Gould in fantasy lineups this week are advised to both monitor his situation, as well as map out a contingency plan. Gould did not attempt a field goal but converted all four of his point-after tries in Thursday's 28-25 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: The 49ers did a great job of capping off their trips to the red zone, but this resulted in a quiet fantasy day for Gould.
