Shown door in Dallas
The Cowboys released Poe on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Poe started every game for the Cowboys this season and recorded eight tackles in the process. However, the Cowboys were apparently looking for a trade partner this week and after an unsuccessful search, they cut Poe loose. Poe could draw interest on the open market for teams looking for veteran depth on the interior defensive line.

Back in action
Poe (quadriceps) was activated from the active/PUP list Tuesday.
Analysis: Poe has passed his physical and will now be eligible to join teammates on the practice field. Following the release of Gerald McCoy (quadriceps), the Cowboys look primed to lean on Poe as a key force along the interior of the defensive line. The former Panther is on track to start Week 1.

Nearing return to action
Poe (quadriceps) remains on the reserve/PUP list, but head coach Mike McCarthy signaled that Poe is making good progress, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Poe continues to rehab from quadriceps surgery he endured in December, but McCarthy didn't relay any concern that Poe wouldn't be ready for the regular season. The 29-year-old defensive tackle played in 11 games for the Panthers last year, logging 22 tackles and four sacks, and he looks poised to start for the Cowboys after signing a two-year, $9.5 million deal in March.

Placed on PUP list
Poe (undisclosed) was placed on the active/PUP list Tuesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Poe is working his way back from quadriceps surgery that limited him to 11 games in 2019. The eight-year pro stands to play a key role plugging up the interior of Dallas' defensive line when healthy, but he's not yet ready to begin practicing with his new teammates.

Joining forces with Dallas
The Cowboys and Poe agreed to terms of a contract Friday, David Helman of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: An eight-year pro, Poe has experience in both 3-4 (Kansas City and Carolina) and 4-3 (Atlanta) alignments, the latter of which he'll be a part of in Dallas. Over the course of his career, he's tallied two-plus sacks in four campaigns while averaging 49.3 defensive snaps per game. The 6-foot-3, 346-pound nose tackle will serve a space-eating role once he recovers from surgery on a quad injury that ended his 2019 season after 11 contests.

Will have option declined
The Panthers are expected to decline Poe's $9.8 million team option for the 2020 season, Jourdan Rodrigue and Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Prior to missing the final five games of 2019 due to a quad injury, Poe played at least 50 percent of the defensive snaps in seven of 11 appearances, accounting for 22 tackles and four sacks. He underwent surgery in the meantime, but considering the cap hit and his age (30 in August), the Panthers are inclined to move on. He'll officially be able to sign elsewhere as of Wednesday, assuming free agency starts as planned.

Undergoes successful surgery
Poe relayed that his quadriceps surgery was successful and he's on track for a full recovery, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Poe missed the final five games of the season, but it doesn't appear his 2020 status is in jeopardy. The 29-year-old had a solid year, as he recorded 22 tackles and four sacks over 11 contests. Poe has one year remaining on his contract at a cap hit of $13.33 million.

Placed on IR
The Panthers placed Poe (quadriceps) on injured reserve Wednesday, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.
Analysis: Poe suffered a torn quadriceps during Sunday's loss to the Saints. The 29-year-old underwent surgery to address the injury Tuesday, and he'll miss the remainder of the 2019 season. Expect Kyle Love to take over at nose tackle for Carolina going forward.

Heading for surgery
Poe is set to undergo surgery to address his torn quadriceps Tuesday, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The fears regarding Poe's injury have been confirmed, with the big tackle scheduled to go under the knife. The 29-year-old should miss the rest of the 2019 season and will move to injured reserve in the near future. Kyle Love is in line to take over at nose tackle for the Panthers.

Torn quad feared
Poe is feared to have suffered a torn quadriceps during Sunday's loss to the Saints, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Poe is scheduled to undergo an MRI to confirm the severity of his injury, but if he's indeed sustained a torn quadriceps, he can be expected to miss the remainder of the season. Kyle Love figures to take over at nose tackle if Poe is indeed forced to miss significant time.

Sporting crutches
Poe (knee) was spotted on crutches following Sunday's loss to the Saints, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Poe suffered a tough injury Sunday as he was on the ground writhing in pain in the second quarter and did not return. The fact that he's sporting crutches suggests that he's dealing with a significant injury. Expect the team to update Poe's status as Week 13 approaches.

Done for day
Poe (knee) won't return to Sunday's game against the Saints, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.
Analysis: Poe suffered the injury in the second quarter and remained on the ground in serious pain before he was helped off the field by trainers. It's likely the team will have an update regarding Poe's status in the coming days. In his stead, Kyle Love is the primary candidate to see an increase in snaps along the defensive line.

Up to four sacks in 2019
Poe made a pair of tackles (one solo) and collected a sack in Sunday's 29-3 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Poe needs just three more sacks over the season's final six games to set a new career-high. Through 10 games, the 29-year-old nose tackle has amassed 21 tackles, including four sacks. Poe's value in IDP formats is, at best, pedestrian.
