Big-ticket IDP outing
Klein racked up 14 combined tackles and 1.5 sacks during Sunday's win over the Chargers.
Analysis: The veteran free-agent signee has really started to hit his stride for the Bills with fellow starter Matt Milano on injured reserve, posting 30 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the three games Milano has missed. "Coach Klein," as his teammates have been calling him, remains a sneaky IDP play when the Bills take on the 49ers on Monday night.

Continues to produce
Klein compiled a season-high 11 tackles in Sunday's loss to Arizona while also adding a sack.
Analysis: Klein has been all over the field the last two weeks, which comes as no small coincidence with fellow starter Matt Milano (pectoral) on IR. That's moved Klein from being the first starting linebacker to sit out in certain sets into pretty much an every-down player. Klein played 92 percent of defensive snaps Sunday after seeing 95 percent in Week 9. The Bills are on bye this week, but the veteran makes for a sneaky IDP play if you need someone for Week 12, as Milano is guaranteed to be out for…read more

Best game for Buffalo
Klein recorded five tackles, 2.0 sacks, one pass defensed, a forced fumble and a recovered fumble during Sunday's win over Seattle.
Analysis: Klein was given his second largest share of playing time all season (95 percent of defensive snaps), as fellow starter Matt Milano was placed on IR last week with a pectoral injury. This was one of the first games the Bills got what they were expecting from Klein after bringing him in via free agency with a decent-sized contract. We're not sure that will continue based on some of his past dud outings, but there's a chance he's starting to fully grasp Leslie Frazier's defense, plus Klein will…read more

Low output with new team
Klein had just one tackle and no other stats in Tuesday's loss to the Titans.
Analysis: One would think Klein would be the beneficiary of extra playing time with fellow starter Matt Milano (pectoral) being out, but that hasn't been the case and Klein is spending a much higher percentage of time on special teams than in the regular defense. That's a bit of a surprise, considering Klein started off the season strong with five tackles in each of the first two games and has familiarity with Sean McDermott's defensive schemes. Klein only played 19 defensive snaps in Tuesday's loss and…read more

More prominent role lies ahead
Klein's teammates Matt Milano (hamstring) and Tremaine Edmunds (shoulder) have both been ruled out for Week 2 in Miami.
Analysis: Klein is typically a starter alongside his two talented teammates, but he's the first to sit out in certain packages. That may not be the case this week, as the Bills have a whittled-down linebacker corps for the game and may be relying on Klein more than would typically be expected. Even though he'll stay on the outside, he may be the one linebacker versed enough in the Bills' defense that he could be asked to take on Edmunds' normal play-calling duties. Klein posted five tackles in Week 1,…read more

Gets extra playing time
Klein was tied for the team lead in tackles during Sunday's win over the Jets with five stops.
Analysis: Klein saw action on 62 percent of the defensive snaps, but his role increased when both of his fellow linebacker starters -- Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds -- had to leave the game for good due to injury. Both players appear to be a question mark for the Week 2 contest in Miami, meaning Klein could be in line for more action once again.

Strategic use with new team?
While Klein is set to start at strong-side linebacker in his first season as a Bill, he may not approach the 71 percent of the defensive snaps he saw for the Saints last season, Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: The Bills play a lot more nickel defense than the Saints and frequently use defensive backs and two linebackers in a number of formations, formations that will likely see Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano stay on the field while Klein gives way to someone with a different skill set. The Bills played their base 4-3 defense on just on just 21.5 percent of the defensive snaps in 2019, and while Klein will be on the field more than that, he's also likely to see the least amount of playing time among…read more

Moving north to Buffalo
Klein agreed Monday with the Bills on a three-year, $18 million deal, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: The deal can't become official until Wednesday, but at that time he'll be moving teams and is the early favorite to take over a starting outside role for the retired Lorenzo Alexander. Klein, who posted 69 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two passes defended, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and one touchdown last season, has a history with Buffalo's brass dating back to his Carolina days.

Solid campaign with strong finish
Klein recorded 69 tackles (47 solo), 2.5 sacks, one interception and a touchdown in 2019.
Analysis: The seventh-year veteran had a solid showing in 2019, holding steady in tackles and sacks while recording his first career touchdown. Klein has started all but one of the 43 games he's appeared in through three seasons with the Saints, and he's one of 25 players entering free agency in 2020.

Scores pick-six in blowout win
Klein recorded six tackles (five solo), one interception and a touchdown in the Saints' 42-10 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Klein tied for the team lead in tackles while recording his first interception of the season. After a rough start, he's come alive over the last three weeks, managing 15 tackles (nine solo), 2.5 sacks and a pick in that span. His lone interception was returned for a 14-yard score, and Klein will take his hot streak into the playoffs with the Saints sporting a 13-3 record.

Records two sacks in win
Klein managed three tackles (all solo), two sacks and a tackle for a loss in the Saints' 38-28 win over the Titans on Sunday.
Analysis: After failing to record a sack through the first 14 games of the season, Klein has done so in back-to-back games. On the season, he's racked up 63 tackles (42 solo) and a forced fumble to go along with his 2.5 sacks, which is rough because his value is primarily tied to his ability to get the quarterback. He'll have a chance to finish the year strong against a reeling Panthers offense in Week 17.

Gets to quarterback in win
Klein finished with six tackles (one solo) and 0.5 sacks in the Saints' 34-7 win over the Colts on Monday.
Analysis: Klein recorded his first sack Monday, finishing just behind Chauncey Gardner-Johnson (8) for the team lead in tackles in the process. On the season, the linebacker has racked up 60 tackles (39 solo), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He's failed to stand out in his solo play this year and doesn't make an appealing IDP option in most fantasy formats.

Back for Week 15
Klein (knee) is clear of the injury report for Monday's game against the Colts, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Klein missed last week's loss to the 49ers due to the knee injury, but he'll be back on the field Monday. The 28-year-old should serve in his usual starting role at strongside linebacker Monday.

Won't play Week 14
Klein (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus San Francisco, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Klein apparently sustained the injury during the Thanksgiving Day victory over the Falcons and didn't practice this week. Stephone Anthony and Craig Robertson are in line to see increased snaps Sunday with Kiko Alonso (thigh) also ruled out.

Misses another practice
Klein (knee) didn't participate in practice Thursday.
Analysis: Klein did not participate in practice for the second consecutive day. He logged just a 35-percent snap rate in the team's Week 13 win as a result of the injury, opening up more opportunity for Stephone Anthony and Craig Robertson. The pair would likely fill in again if he's unable to go in the team's Week 14 matchup against the 49ers.

DNP to start week
Klein (knee) didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Klein may have been hurting during Week 13's win over the Falcons, as he logged a season-low, 35-percent snap share. Since Wednesday wasn't an actual practice, Klein's status for Thursday's session will reveal more about his status for Sunday's daunting matchup against the 49ers.

Records seven tackles
Klein notched seven tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 26-9 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Klein was tied for second on the team in tackles behind only Demario Davis (11). The Saints put out a rare poor performance Sunday, but will have a chance to bounce back against the Buccaneers and a turnover-prone Jameis Winston in Week 11.
