Lands future pact
Kaufusi signed a reserve/future contract with the Packers on Friday.
Analysis: A 2016 third-round pick, Kaufusi lost his rookie season to a broken ankle, and he's played in only nine NFL games over the past four years. The Packers have depth at tight end in their system, so Kaufusi will have a tough time securing a roster spot in 2021.

Lands on practice squad
Kaufusi was waived by the Jets on Saturday, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Kaufusi transitioned from defensive lineman to tight end during during the course of training camp, so it always seemed unlikely the 29-year-old would be a part of the active roster to start. Look for Kaufusi to gain more reps at his new position on the team's practice squad.

Shifts to tight end
Coach Adam Gase said Kaufusi has moved to tight end, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
Analysis: Gase also said that the former defensive lineman could contribute on both sides of the ball, in which case he would provide the Jets with rare versatility. Kaufusi logged 3.5 tackles and a half-sack in three appearances last season.
