Placed on IR
The Chiefs officially placed Kemp (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: Kemp suffered a torn ACL and MCL at practice over the weekend, so this move was just a matter of time. The 24-year-old pass catcher suited up for all 16 games in Kansas City last year but was considered a fringe-roster player heading into 2019. He will now be forced to focus on his recovery.

Out with torn ACL and MCL
Kemp will miss the 2019 season after tests showed he suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his knee during Saturday's preseason game, the Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: Kemp was having a strong preseason and looked like he'd win a spot on the active roster.

Facing MRI on knee
Coach Andy Reid said Kemp sprained his knee during Saturday's preseason loss in Pittsburgh and will undergo an MRI, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Analysis: The MRI will determine the extent of any ligament damage in Kemp's knee, but it appears the third-year wideout could be facing an absence of some sort. Clearly, such a development would hurt his chances of landing one of the final spots on the Chiefs' WR depth chart.

Picks up knee injury
Kemp won't return to Saturday's preseason game at Pittsburgh due to a knee injury, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Despite the impending threat of a big hit over the middle from a Steelers defender, Kemp hauled in a 27-yarder before getting crunched and immediately went to the sideline. He's in contention for one of the final spots on the Chiefs' wide receiver depth chart, so an injury at the midpoint of exhibition season doesn't help his cause.

Posting solid camp
Kemp continues to have a strong camp for the Chiefs, Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest reports.
Analysis: Kemp likely would require an outbreak of injuries or illnesses for Kemp to find himself in a fantasy-relevant spot, but even making the roster for a high-powered Chiefs offense could eventually pay dividends. He still has a number of wideouts to beat out, but Kemp has positioned himself well again early on.

Stays with Chiefs
Kemp signed his tender with the Chiefs on Tuesday, Brooke Pryor of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: Kemp was active for all 16 regular-season games in 2018, logging 36 snaps on offense and 299 on special teams. He might have a shot at the No. 4 wide receiver job after the Chiefs lost Chris Conley earlier this offseason, but it's more likely Kemp sticks in his familiar role on the kick-coverage and return units.

Special teams contributor in 2018
Although Kemp appeared in all 16 regular-season games for the Chiefs in 2018, nearly all of his work came on special teams.
Analysis: Kemp hauled in just one pass for seven yards on two targets throughout the campaign and played more than three offensive snaps in a game just twice all season. The second-year wideout did take the field on special teams to the tune of 299 snaps, but he's far from a lock to be on the Chiefs' 53-man roster next season, despite being an exclusive rights free agent.
