Works out for Colts
Seals-Jones was among several tight ends to work out for Indianapolis on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones began training camp with a good chance to be the Giants' starting tight end this season, but he hurt his toe very early in camp and was eventually released with an injury settlement. He now appears to be healthy and will try to latch on with the Colts, who currently have only one healthy tight end (Kylen Granson) on the active roster with both Mo Alie-Cox (ankle) and Jelani Woods (shoulder) missing practice Wednesday.

Released with injury settlement
The Giants released Seals-Jones (toe) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones was slated to miss the entire 2022 campaign after being placed on IR, but he'll now be free to join a new team once he clears his current toe issue. The 27-year-old tight end appeared in 13 games for Washington last year and caught 30 of 49 targets for 271 yards and two scores.

Placed on IR
Seals-Jones was placed on injured reserve Tuesday due to a toe injury, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones can't play for the Giants this season, but he might be able to play for another team if he reaches an injury settlement. It's also possible this is truly a season-ending injury, as Seals-Jones otherwise seemed to be right in the mix for snaps in arguably the weakest TE room in the league. Rookie Daniel Bellinger got most of the first-team snaps in the Giants' first two preseason games and had a costly drop-turned-interception in the second one.

Set to claim roster spot
Seals-Jones (undisclosed) should claim a roster spot heading into the 2022 campaign, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The tight end hasn't practiced since the second day of camp while dealing with an unspecified injury, but he seems all but guaranteed to make the final roster after signing with New York in March. There's no word on if Seals-Jones will be healthy for the start of the year, but he will in all likelihood split reps with Daniel Bellinger on the Giants' offense when he returns to the field.

Still sidelined Sunday
Seals-Jones (undisclosed) won't play Sunday against Cincinnati, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones didn't play in last week's preseason opener against the Patriots and will miss a second consecutive matchup to begin the preseason. His final chance to see some game action prior to the regular season will be Aug. 28 against the Jets.

Unlikely to play
Seals-Jones (undisclosed) is unlikely to play Thursday in the Giants' first preseason game, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones has been absent from the practice field for much of training camp, and he was also involved very little during minicamp. A specific injury has still yet to be reported. Seals-Jones was expected to compete with 2022 fourth-round pick Daniel Bellinger and offseason signee Jordan Akins for the leading spot on the Giants' tight end positional depth chart. However, the more time Seals-Jones misses, the harder it's going to be for him to nab the No. 1 spot.

Misses another practice
Seals-Jones (undisclosed) missed a fifth straight practice Wednesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: No injury has been reported, but that's the most likely explanation for his continued absence. Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News notes that Seals-Jones didn't get much run in spring practices either, after signing with the Giants in March. The team's other candidates for tight-end targets are former Texan Jordan Akins and rookie fourth-round pick Daniel Bellinger.

Misses third straight practice
Seals-Jones did not participate in Monday's practice, marking the third consecutive session he's missed, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: It's unclear if Seals-Jones is dealing with an injury, and he certainly has plenty of time to ramp into shape before the season begins, but his absence from practice is notable because he's in a competition for New York's starting tight-end role. The veteran came into camp with a slight inside edge for the gig, but the Giants also brought in ex-Texan Jordan Akins this offseason and selected Daniel Bellinger in the fourth round of the draft, and either player could pull ahead of Seals-Jones on…read more

Finds new home in New York
The Giants and Seals-Jones (concussion) agreed to a contract Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones is joining the fifth organization of his career and a team in great need at his position after Evan Engram left for Jacksonville, Kyle Rudolph and Kaden Smith (knee) were cut in recent weeks, and Levine Toilolo (Achilles) hit free agency. Seals-Jones flashed at times last season for Washington when Logan Thomas (knee) was sidelined, gathering in 30 of 49 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns. Lands on IR
Washington has placed Seals-Jones (concussion) on injured reserve.
Analysis: No surprise here, as Seals-Jones was already ruled out for Washington's regular-season finale. With the team not in the playoff picture, his 2021 campaign has officially come to an end. He will end the year with 30 receptions for 271 yards and two touchdowns. The 26-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

Out Week 18, could be free agent
Seals-Jones (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones made some noise earlier in the season when Logan Thomas missed time with a hamstring injury, but Washington later turned to a timeshare between RSJ and rookie John Bates after Thomas suffered a season-ending ACL tear. Bates now figures to close out the season in a three-down role, though he can't match Thomas or Seals-Jones when it comes to speed/ athleticism. In any case, Seals-Jones finishes the year with a 30-271-2 receiving line on 49 targets, and he's now scheduled to become an…read more

Doesn't practice again Thursday
Seals-Jones (concussion) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones entered the concussion protocol this past Sunday versus the Eagles after he toppled into a cameraman while attempting to catch a Taylor Heinicke pass along the right side of the end zone. The tight end required a backboard to get off the field, and his lack of practice reps so far this week has him trending in the wrong direction ahead of a Week 18 road game against the Giants. Friday's practice report ultimately could decide Seals-jones' fate for that contest. With Sammis Reyes…read more

Not practicing
Seals-Jones (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Even before Seals-Jones exited last week's loss to the Eagles when he was carted off the field following a sideline collision with a cameraman, John Bates had been taking on more of Washington's tight-end snaps over the past few games. Bates should have a three-down role Week 18 against the Giants if Seals-Jones isn't able to play.

Enters concussion protocol
Coach Ron Rivera said Monday that Seals-Jones has entered the concussion protocol, Matthew Paras of The Washington Times reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones was taken off the field on a backboard during Sunday's loss to the Eagles and will have several steps to clear if he hopes to return for Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the Giants. John Bates and Sammis Reyes should see increased work against the Giants if Seals-Jones is unavailable.

Exits Sunday's game
Seals-Jones was forced out of Sunday's game against the Eagles with a neck injury.
Analysis: Prior to his exit from the contest, Seals-Jones -- who will not return to action Sunday -- caught one of his two targets for eight yards. In his absence, John Bates is slated to head Washington's Week 17 tight end corps.

Negative yardage in huge loss
Seals-Jones caught his lone target for negative-four yards in Sunday's 56-14 loss to Dallas.
Analysis: Seals-Jones may have caught the worst of this one-sided affair, as his lone target went backwards and he didn't get another touch for the remainder of the contest. Backup tight end John Bates flashed his talent in garbage time (2-45-1), so we could see some of RSJ's targets go his way on a fluid depth chart. Most fantasy managers won't bother with Seals-Jones heading into a Week 17 matchup against the Eagles.

Co-leads team in targets
Seals-Jones brought in four of seven targets for 29 yards in Washington's 27-17 loss to the Eagles on Tuesday night.
Analysis: The veteran tight end co-led the team in targets alongside Antonio Gibson and was also second in receptions to his teammate. Seals-Jones is in possession of the top tight end job the rest of the way with Logan Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, so he'll have some utility in a Week 16 road matchup against the Cowboys, especially if starting quarterback Taylor Heinicke is able to clear the COVID-19 protocols in time for that contest.

Suiting up Tuesday
Seals-Jones (illness) is listed as active Tuesday at Philadelphia.
Analysis: Seals-Jones picked up a non-COVID-19 illness over the weekend, but the fact this contest was pushed back allowed the tight end to make himself available for Week 15 action. With Logan Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, Seals-Jones will continue to serve as the No. 1 TE for Washington, while John Bates and Alex Armah are the other available options at the position. Gets questionable tag for Week 15
Seals-Jones (illness) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Eagles.
Analysis: A non-COVID-19-related illness kept Seals-Jones from practicing Sunday, but he returned to the field as a full participant Monday. Though he'll still carry a designation into the Week 15 contest, Seals-Jones' ability to put in a full practice bodes well for his chances of gaining clearance for Tuesday's game. If active, Seals-Jones presumably will start at tight end, but he'll likely have to split work at tight end with rookie John Bates, who has made a push for more playing time in the second…read more

Misses practice with illness
Seals-Jones didn't participate in Sunday's practice due to an illness, making his status uncertain for Tuesday's game against the Eagles, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Washington hasn't placed Seals-Jones on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but his situation will bear watching over the next two days with 13 members of the Football Team roster still residing on the list as of Sunday. John Bates worked with the first-team offense at Friday's practice and would be in line to start at tight end if Seals-Jones can't gain clearance for Tuesday's game. Washington-Eagles moved to Tuesday
Seals-Jones and Washington will no longer play the Eagles on Sunday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
Analysis: Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within Washington's organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Football Team will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster.

Almost invisible
Seals-Jones caught one pass for eight yards on four targets against Dallas on Sunday.
Analysis: Seals-Jones and the Washington passing game in general really struggled Sunday, in large part because the team couldn't even slightly slow the Dallas pass rush. Quarterbacks Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen both fell apart in this one, making it difficult to judge Seals-Jones for his disappointing box score. If Washington continues to struggle with its pass blocking, then Seals-Jones could have a tough time improving on his numbers against Philadelphia in Week 15.

Good to go, replacing Thomas
Seals-Jones (hip) has been cleared to play in Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones comes back from a three-game absence right after fellow tight end Logan Thomas suffered a season-ending knee injury. During his first stint replacing Thomas, the 26-year-old took on an every-down role and saw four or more targets in six straight games, averaging 3.7 catches for 35.2 yards on 5.7 targets despite leaving the sixth game in the first half with a hip injury. Seals-Jones (hip) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday.
Analysis: Seals-Jones has yet to log a full practice since injuring his hip back in Week 10 against the Buccaneers, missing three games as a result. With Washington placing Logan Thomas (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, there's now a void to fill at tight end for the Football Team's offense, which Seals-Jones will take on when he's able to gain clearance to play. Seals-Jones (hip) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones has missed three straight games, but if healthy, he could step back into a three-down role as Washington's top tight end as soon as Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Logan Thomas reclaimed starting duties at the position for the past two games following a seven-week stint on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, but he's now out for the season after returning to IR on Wednesday after injuring his left knee in last week's win over the Raiders. Analysis: The journeyman thus will sit out a third straight contest after doing a serviceable job filling in for a then-injured Logan Thomas for a six-game stretch. Questionable against Raiders
Seals-Jones (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Even if he plays, Seals-Jones is expected to serve as the top backup to tight end Logan Thomas, who returned from a hamstring injury last week and played 77 percent of the offensive snaps in a win over the Seahawks. Seals-Jones (hip) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Prior to exiting early in Washington's Week 10 win over Tampa Bay with a hip injury and then missing the Football Team's next two games, Seals-Jones played no fewer than 92 percent of the offensive snaps in any of his previous five appearances. Seals-Jones (hip) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones hasn't taken the field since being forced out of a Week 10 matchup against Tampa Bay, but it's encouraging to see him logging limited practice reps. Seals-Jones (hip) is inactive for Monday's game against the Seahawks.
Analysis: Since leaving a Week 10 matchup with the Buccaneers, Seals-Jones has been unable to practice due to a hip injury. Likely out Monday
Seals-Jones (hip) is doubtful for Monday's game against the Seahawks, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: The 26-year-old continues to sit out practice with the hip injury and is likely to be sidelined for the second straight game. Logan Thomas (hamstring) is expected to be activated from injured reserve ahead of Monday's contest, so Seals-Jones' time as Washington's top tight end is likely over, regardless of whether or not he suits up against Seattle.

Seals-Jones (hip) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice report.
Analysis: Seals-Jones dinged his hip in a Week 10 win against the Buccaneers and hasn't been spotted on the field since then, either in practice or this past Sunday at Carolina. Washington designated No. 1 tight end Logan Thomas (hamstring) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, thus opening a 21-day window for him to get back on the active roster. Analysis: After sitting out Wednesday's session entirely, Seals-Jones looks like he'll be able to practice on at least a limited basis Thursday. If he's able to move past the quad issue in advance of Sunday's game in Green Bay, Seals-Jones should operate as Washington's clear No. 1 tight end, and one of the top options in the team's passing attack overall. Seals-Jones has played over 90 percent of Washington's offensive snaps in each of the three games since Logan Thomas went down with a hamstring…read more

Dealing with quad injury
Seals-Jones missed Wednesday's practice due to a quadriceps injury.
Analysis: Since Logan Thomas hurt his right hamstring Week 4 and landed on injured reserve, Seals-Jones has taken on a large role in Washington passing game. Over nearly three games as the team's top tight end, Seals-Jones has earned at least 90 percent of the offensive snaps in each contest on his way to 11 catches (on 19 targets) for 118 yards and one touchdown. Considering his production and situation, his status will be one to monitor as the week goes on. After Seals-Jones, the Football Team has John…read more

Tallies 39-yard touchdown
Seals-Jones recorded four receptions on six targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Seals-Jones gave Washington a short-lived lead when he hauled in a 39-yard touchdown just before halftime. He tacked on an additional 14-yard reception, but he was otherwise limited to short gains. Through two weeks with Logan Thomas (hamstring) fully absent, Seals-Jones has combined to command 15 targets while hauling in nine receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown.

Targeted eight times
Seals-Jones caught five of eight targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 33-22 loss to New Orleans.
Analysis: Seals-Jones played 82 of Washington's 83 offensive snaps, directly replacing an injured Logan Thomas (hamstring), who also will be out for Weeks 6 and 7 at a minimum. While his production Sunday was modest, Seals-Jones has the necessary workload and athleticism to maintain fantasy relevance at tight end for the time being. He'll take on a struggling Kansas City defense in Week 6, with some potential for extra targets if Washington continues to struggle with injuries at wide receiver.

Tabbed to replace Logan Thomas
Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner confirmed that Seals-Jones will enter the starting lineup Sunday against the Saints after top tight end Logan Thomas (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Pete Hailey of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Analysis: After Thomas exited in the first quarter of last week's win over Atlanta, Seals-Jones stepped in and handled a three-down role for Washington. Seals-Jones played 92 percent of the offensive snaps in the win, pulling in two of his four targets for 19 yards. Thomas' absence for at least the next three weeks will create an opening for Seals-Jones to take on heavy snap counts, and he could see more target volume headed his way against New Orleans if wideouts Curtis Samuel (groin), and Dyami Brown…read more

Takes on three-down role
Seals-Jones replaced an injured Logan Thomas (hamstring) in Sunday's 34-30 win over Atlanta, catching two of four targets for 19 yards while playing a career-high 93 percent of snaps.
Analysis: Seals-Jones was used as a direct replacement for the injured starter, taking on an every-down role while rookie John Bates merely handled his usual work as the backup and blocking specialist. While it didn't lead to production, Seals-Jones could have a degree of fantasy value if he handles the same role when Washington faces New Orleans in Week 5. The 26-year-old figures to be one of the more popular waiver adds at TE this week.

Catches TD on only target
Seals-Jones caught his lone target for a 19-yard touchdown in Thursday's 30-29 win over the Giants.
Analysis: The college wideout turned NFL tight end has bounced around the league the past few years, playing for Arizona, Cleveland, Kansas City and now Washington. His struggles to earn regular snaps aren't likely to end on a team with Logan Thomas at tight end, but Seals-Jones did show that he can still make big plays, outleaping a defender for a surprise fourth-quarter TD on Thursday. There is some potential for fantasy value if Thomas were to miss time, though in such a scenario Seal-Jones might be…read more

Back on the field
Seals-Jones (leg) resumed practicing Monday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones suffered a leg contusion during practice last week, but he's already recovered enough to resume participating in on-field drills. Count on Seals-Jones to resume competing for a depth gig behind top tight end Logan Thomas.

Suffers mid-practice injury
Seals-Jones exited Thursday's practice session early due to an apparent right leg injury, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones was helped off the field by trainers, and he was only able to walk gingerly. The 26-year-old tight end has an opportunity to earn a key depth role behind Logan Thomas in Washington, but those chances could dry up if he's forced to miss a significant portion of training camp.

Lands in Washington
Seals-Jones has signed a contract with Washington, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Washington doesn't have much prominent depth at tight end behind Logan Thomas, so Seals-Jones will certainly have a shot to earn a roster spot in camp. Seals-Jones failed to record a catch over two appearances with the Chiefs last season but caught at least 12 passes in each of the previous three campaigns, split between Arizona and Cleveland.

Joins active roster
Seals-Jones has been promoted from Kansas City's practice squad to the team's active roster.

Joins practice squad
Seals-Jones was signed to the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Inactive again Week 3
Seals-Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game against the Ravens, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones is a healthy scratch for the second straight game after not playing a single snap during the season opener. Nick Keizer and Deon Yelder will be the depth options at tight end behind All-Pro Travis Kelce for Kansas City.

Healthy scratch Week 2
Seals-Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 2 tilt against the Chargers, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The veteran tight end has some name value from his past NFL exploits, but on a Chiefs team that features Travis Kelce at the top of the positional depth chart, Seals-Jones may have an uphill battle for active status on some weeks. Seals-Jones did not see the field Week 1 against the Texans either, as he appears to have been usurped for the backup role to Kelce by undrafted rookie Nick Keizer at the moment.

Back at practice
Seals-Jones (leg) returned to practice Sunday, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Considering Seals-Jones was carted off the field just last Monday, it's a great sign that he's avoided a significant injury and is back in the mix at tight end. He enters 2020 on a one-year deal and is in line to compete with Deon Yelder (groin) for reps as the Chiefs' No. 2 tight end behind Travis Kelce.

Injured during practice
Seals-Jones was carted off the practice field Monday with an apparent right leg injury, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Signed to a one-year contract in the offseason, Seals-Jones is hoping to replace Blake Bell as the No. 2 tight end in Kansas City. His main competition (Deon Yelder) has been dealing with a groin strain, so the Chiefs likely will sign a tight end at some point this week.

Joining Chiefs
The Chiefs and Seals-Jones agreed to terms of a contract Friday, Terez A. Paylor of Yahoo Sports reports.
Analysis: According to Paylor, the deal encompasses the 2020 season. Seals-Jones has been moderately productive in three pro campaigns, averaging 12.9 yards per catch and scoring eight touchdowns on 60 career receptions between the Cardinals and Browns. The Chiefs don't have much depth behind Travis Kelce, so Seals-Jones may be the frontrunner for the No. 2 role.

Enters free agency
Seals-Jones didn't receive a contract tender from the Browns and is now an unrestricted free agent, Mike Clay of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The Browns brought in Austin Hooper to lead the tight end room, making Seals-Jones an expendable depth option. The 25-year-old is coming off a 2019 season in which he notched 14 catches for 229 yards and four touchdowns across 14 games, and he should garner fair interest around the league as a developmental/depth piece.

Has career-high TDs
Seals-Jones had 14 receptions for 229 yards and four touchdowns over 14 games in 2019.
Analysis: Seals-Jones had a nose for the end zone, posting a career-high four touchdowns on just 22 targets. He was not on the radar to start the season, but David Njoku's injury opened the door for Cleveland's other tight ends. While Seals-Jones received red-zone targets, he wasn't on the field all that much outside of those situations -- he played no more than 32 percent of the offensive snaps in 12 of his 14 games played. Active for finale
Seals-Jones (illness) is active Week 17 against Cincinnati.
Analysis: Seals-Jones was one of several Cleveland players battling an illness this week, and while it cost him a few practice sessions, he'll end up on the active roster for the regular-season finale. Another factor is in play this week in terms of the target share at the position, however, as David Njoku will return from back-to-back healthy scratches and re-join the active roster, with Demetrius Harris -- the snap leader in back-to-back weeks -- on hand as well.

Analysis: The illness resulted in Seals-Jones being listed as a non-participant on the Browns' first two practice reports of Week 17, but his ability to return to work Friday in a limited fashion suggests he's at least feeling a little better as Sunday approaches. Analysis: The Browns listed Seals-Jones as a non-participant on their initial practice report released Wednesday, and the tight end looks poised to maintain that listing for a second straight day. Analysis: Seals-Jones scored two touchdowns in last week's win over the Cardinals but was forced to leave early due to a shoulder injury. Seals-Jones was forced out of Sunday's game against the Cardinals with a shoulder injury, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones was in line for increased duties with David Njoku serving as a healthy scratch, and he executed against his former team, hauling in three passes for 29 yards and two touchdowns. Seals-Jones caught his lone target for 22 yards in Sunday's 27-19 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Cleveland's tight end group had a shakeup Sunday, as David Njoku returned from a wrist injury and Demetrius Harris (shoulder) was made inactive. Seals-Jones brought up the rear in terms of snaps (11), and the target was just his fourth in the last seven games. Analysis: Sunday was Seals-Jones' second consecutive game without a reception and his third such game in his last four outings. Analysis: Prior to his absence Week 10 against the Bills, Seals-Jones didn't practice at all but still was considered a game-time decision. Seals-Jones (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Steelers.
Analysis: Seals-Jones, who was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walk-through after being limited at practice earlier this week, profiles as a game-time decision for Thursday's contest. If he ends up limited or is inactive, Demetrius Harris would continue to see added tight end snaps for the Browns in Week 11. Stephen Carlson and Pharaoh Brown are the other tight ends on the roster.

Likely game-time call
Seals-Jones (knee) will likely be a game-time decision for Thursday's tilt versus the Steelers, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Seals-Jones was unable to suit up in Week 10 after suffering a knee injury in Week 9 and will be deemed a game-time call for a second straight contest. The third-year tight end has hauled in just nine passes for 155 yards and two scores through seven appearances, so his absence shouldn't have a drastic impact on the passing attack. Demetrius Harris would presumably handle No. 1 duties should Seals-Jones sit out again.
