Mostly used on special teams
Lacy logged three offensive snaps but was not targeted during Thursday's 24-20 loss to the Bears.
Analysis: Lacy was signed to the active roster in the wake of Marvin Hall's (foot) placement on injured reserve, but the majority of Lacy's playing time came on special teams. While his role as a kickoff returned could lead to additional touches, Lacy is unlikely to make many plays on offense as long as Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola stay healthy.

Moves to active roster
The Lions signed Lacy to a contract Wednesday.
Analysis: Lacy's spot on the 53-man roster comes following Detroit's decision to place Marvin Hall (foot) on injured reserve. Lacy will serve as the team's No. 4 receiver behind Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola.

Signs with Lions' practice squad
Lacy was signed to the Lions' practice squad Tuesday.
Analysis: Lacy seemingly entered the 2019 season as the Lions' clear No. 4 receiver, but he was ultimately waived prior to Week 3 after logging five total snaps on offense compared to 31 on special teams. Meanwhile, the team has refused to part ways with Travis Fulgham, who resides on the active roster but has been a healthy scratch all three weeks of this season. If there's a depth receiver in Detroit to keep an eye on, it's apparent Fulgham is the one the Lions view as the best long-term option.

Let go by Lions
Lacy was waived by Detroit on Saturday.
Analysis: Lacy was waived in favor of Marvin Hall, who was promoted from the practice squad Saturday in a corresponding move. The second-year pro played in each of Detroit's first two games this season, but he was unable to record any statistics.

Mostly used on special teams
Lacy logged three snaps on offense compared to 21 on special teams during Sunday's 27-27 tie with the Cardinals.
Analysis: Lacy was almost exclusively utilized on special teams in this one, but that should be expected when Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola are all healthy enough to play. However, considering quarterback Matthew Stafford aired it out for 385 passing yards (most since 2017) during his first game under a new offensive coordinator, there's a reason to be optimistic about Lacy in deeper leagues should he ever be forced into significant playing time on offense.

Makes the team
Lacy earned a spot on Detroit's initial 53-man roster to open the 2019 season.
Analysis: The 6-foot-3 wideout impressed Lions beat writers all spring and seemed to always be one of the first guys to get reps with the starting offense when either Marvin Jones or Kenny Golladay was injured or needed a break. While Lacy isn't much of a force out of the slot, an injury to any of Golladay, Jones or Danny Amendola could land him in a prominent role, as Golladay can move to the inside if anything happens to Amendola.

Earning time with first team
Lacy worked with the first-team offense in the absence of Marvin Jones (knee) during practice this week, Chris Burke of the Athletic reports.
Analysis: As someone who's routinely impressed since the start of spring workouts, Lacy looks to be putting together a solid case for a roster spot. Burke notes that, at this point, it would be a surprise if Lacy doesn't win the No. 4 receiver job behind Jones, Golladay and Danny Amendola (undisclosed). With Jones not traveling to Houston for the Lions' second preseason game, Lacy is a strong bet to open Saturday's exhibition with the starting offense.

Receives activation
Lacy (lower leg) was activated off the Lions' Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The 23-year-old sustained the injury early June but received a clean bill of health right before camp opens Wednesday. Now that he's healthy, Lacy finds himself in a job battle with Andy Jones for what could end up being the last wide receiver spot on the team's 53-man roster.

Nursing lower leg injury
Lacy (lower leg) missed practice Thursday, Chris Burke of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Lacy reportedly sustained the injury last week and it's unsure whether he will be ready for training camp come late July. The injury comes at an unfortunate time for the Oklahoma State product, as he finds himself in a job battle with Andy Jones for what could end up being the last wide receiver spot on the team's 53-man roster.

Makes pro debut in season finale
Lacy was targeted once in the passing game but did not record a reception during Sunday's season finale in Green Bay.
Analysis: Promoted from the practice squad a week ago as a replacement for Bruce Ellington (hamstring), Lacy played a significant role right off the bat. His 48 percent snap share wasn't too far off No. 3 receiver TJ Jones (58 percent), but neither of these guys drew many targets on a day quarterback Matthew Stafford honed in on Andy Jones (12 targets) and Brandon Powell (nine). Under contract with Detroit through the 2019 season, Lacy -- at 6-foot-3 with 4.50 speed -- seems like an intriguing…read more

Signs with Lions
Lacy was promoted to the Lions' 53-man roster Saturday.
Analysis: Lacy spent the first 15 weeks of the season on the team's practice squad but joins the active roster with Bruce Ellington (hamstring) going on injured reserve. The 22-year-old should serve as a depth option at wide receiver for Detroit.
