Receives bump in playing time
Ratley played 16 snaps and failed to catch his only target in Sunday's 27-19 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Ratley had been an active part of the Browns' wideout corps to start the season but lost prominence when Rashard Higgins returned from a knee injury. Higgins has since failed to impress and did not see any offensive snaps Sunday, resulting in Ratley receiving his most playing time since Week 4 against Baltimore. He appears to have moved up the wide receiver depth chart, but that doesn't mean much in Cleveland's offense. The Browns are getting by with running back Kareem Hunt as a de facto…read more

Healthy scratch Sunday
Ratley (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Week 6 against Seattle.
Analysis: Ratley has been filling in off and on for the likes of Jarvis Landry and Antonio Callaway, and has even taken on meanginful snaps shares in several of Cleveland's games this season. The team enters Week 6 with a fully healthy receiving corps, however, as Rashard Higgins will be on the active roster for the first time since Week 1 after overcoming a knee injury. With the position group intact for the time being, Ratley seems unlikely to be part of the team's game plan in the immediate future.

Takes over for Callaway
Ratley was targeted twice without a catch in Monday's 31-3 loss to the 49ers in Week 5.
Analysis: Ratley had a relatively high profile through the first four games while Rashard Higgins (knee) and Antonio Callaway (suspension) were unavailable, but he was back to fourth on the depth chart with Callaway making his season debut Monday. However, Callaway looked rusty, which led to Ratley serving as the third wideout in the second half. Callaway is still considered the third wide receiver but clearly needs to acclimate to game conditions after being away from the Browns for the first four weeks…read more

Fills in for Landry
Ratley caught one of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 40-25 win over the Ravens in Week 4.
Analysis: Ratley moved up the depth chart after Jarvis Landry was removed late with a concussion, which leaves Landry's status unclear for Week 5 against the 49ers on Monday night. Add in the altercation between Odell Beckham and the Ravens' Marlon Humphrey, which could lead to a league review, and the Browns may be short on wideouts next week. Ratley at times has been operating as the No. 3 wideout through the first four weeks with Rashard Higgins (knee) sidelined and Antonio Callaway suspended for the…read more

Gets larger share of snaps
Ratley caught three of five targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Rams in Week 3.
Analysis: He was targeted three times in the red zone (one catch, nine yards) and is getting increased looks with Rashard Higgins (knee) unavailable. Ratley played 79 percent of the offensive snaps (57 of 72) against the Rams, up from 61 percent the previous week. Higgins was able to practice in a limited fashion last week, so Ratley may be challenged for the No. 3 wideout spot next week at Baltimore. With Antonio Callaway set to complete his four-game suspension next week, Ratley and Higgins will remain…read more

Increased playing time
Ratley caught two of three targets for 50 yards in Monday's 23-3 win over the Jets in Week 2.
Analysis: Ratley received a bigger share of playing time in Week 2 as Rashard Higgins (knee) was held out of the contest. Ratley has caught four of the five balls thrown his way, but he's fighting for scraps after quarterback Baker Mayfield feeds Odell Beckham (21 targets) and Jarvis Landry (14).

Two catches in Week 1
Ratley caught both of his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 43-13 loss to the Titans in Week 1.
Analysis: Ratley (35 snaps) and Rashard Higgins (32) essentially shared the third wideout role while Odell Beckham (73 snaps, 11 targets) and Jarvis Landry (73, seven) dominated the targets for the position group. Ratley, a 2018 sixth-round draft pick, will likely continue in a similar role for the next three weeks until the Browns welcome back Antonio Callaway from a four-game suspension.

Makes roster
Ratley (hamstring) made the Browns roster and opens the season as the fifth wideout on the depth chart.
Analysis: Ratley appeared in his first preseason game in the fourth week, getting one target over his 27 snaps. A 2018 sixth-round draft pick out of Texas A&M, Ratley brings speed to the position, which likely played a factor in general manager John Dorsey's decision to keep him. He'll get at least four weeks to prove he belongs before Anthony Callaway (suspension) returns to the team.

Expected to play Thursday
Ratley (hamstring) is expected to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Coach Freddie Kitchens said the same thing last week, but Ratley was unable to play against the Buccaneers. Ratley, who has yet to make an appearance in the preseason, is on the roster bubble entering the final exhibition contest. The Browns likely have two spots still up for grabs, with performances from players like Ratley on Thursday expected to help the front office and coaching staff settle the decision.

Expected to play Friday
Ratley is expected to make his preseason debut Friday against the Buccaneers, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Ratley, a sixth-round draft pick in 2018, is fighting for a roster spot after missing the past two games and most of camp with a hamstring injury.

Returns to team work
Ratley (hamstring) is participating in team drills at Monday's practice, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Ratley sustained the hamstring injury in late July but returned to practice late last week, though he apparently didn't get enough work in to play in Saturday's preseason contest. The 24-year-old caught 13 of 20 targets for 144 yards in 13 games last season, but he may need to perform well in the last two preseason games to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Sits out Saturday
Ratley was unable to suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Colts due to a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Ratley had missed most of camp with the hamstring injury, and his absence is concerning, considering he returned to practice Thursday ahead of the game. With the 2018 sixth-round pick on the roster bubble, it's likely the injury is serious enough to hold him out. Ratley will have two more games to hopefully get healthy and make his case for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Returns to practice
Ratley (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Ratley has been sideline for most of camp due to a hamstring issue. He is currently on the 53-man roster bubble, so a return to camp should be advantageous for his chances. He hauled in 13 receptions for 144 yards across 13 games during his rookie season in Cleveland.

Working on the side Sunday
Ratley (hamstring) practiced on the side at Sunday's session, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Ratley sustained the hamstring injury Thursday and it's unclear how long he'll need before becoming a full participant in practice. Regardless, Ratley faces a difficult path to significant playing time in 2019.

Absent from practice
Ratley (undisclosed) is not participating in Friday's training camp practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Ratley was reportedly examined by a trainer during Thursday's practice and appears to be dealing with an undisclosed injury. The 2018 sixth-round pick notched 13 catches for 144 yards as a rookie, but he faces a more difficult path to playing time in his sophomore campaign given the addition of Odell Beckham Jr. to Cleveland's receiving corps.

Sees limited action in 2018
Ratley finished his rookie season with 13 receptions on 20 targets for 144 yards.
Analysis: Drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Ratley was buried on Cleveland's depth chart from the beginning of training camp. He did, however, have a solid four-game stretch in the beginning of the season when he hauled in 12 catches for 142 yards. From Week 10 on, though, the rookie wideout saw just one target as his time on the field disappeared. Ratley will likely fight for a depth role in 2019.

Plays two snaps against Atlanta
Ratley played two offensive snaps and wasn't targeted during Sunday's 28-16 win over the Falcons.
Analysis: A week after playing 27 percent of Cleveland's offensive snaps, the rookie wideout saw his snap count fall off a cliff Sunday, as Breshad Perriman seemingly leapfrogged him on the depth chart. It remains to be seen how much he's involved coming out of the bye week in Week 12, but don't expect him to suddenly become one of Baker Mayfield's favorite targets.

Two catches against Chiefs
Ratley corralled two of four targets for 16 yards during Sunday's 37-21 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: With Rashard Higgins' return from a three-game absence, Ratley's playing time was expected to decrease, and while that was true Sunday against the Chiefs, the rookie receiver still played 27 percent of the offensive snaps. He was also targeted four times, which equaled that of Higgins. Still, Ratley should only be considered in deep and dynasty fantasy leagues, due to the fact he doesn't figure to be a key factor on offense going forward.
