Could be ready for postseason
Coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that McSorley's knee sprain should take about three weeks of recovery, Daniel Oyefusi of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: McSorley is apparently dealing with a minor knee sprain, but his IR placement will require him to miss the rest of the regular season. Meanwhile, Robert Griffin (thigh) is on track to return from IR for the Week 16 matchup against the Giants. Tyler Huntley is expected to be brought up from the practice squad to serve as Lamar Jackson's backup until Griffin returns.

Lands on IR
McSorley (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Analysis: McSorley suffered a minor knee sprain in Monday's 47-42 win over the Browns, and he'll be required to sit out for the rest of the regular season. In the meantime, practice squad quarterback Tyler Huntley should serve as Lamar Jackson's backup until either McSorley or Robert Griffin (hamstring) is activated from IR.

Deemed week-to-week
McSorley suffered a minor knee sprain during Sunday's 47-42 win over the Browns, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: McSorley went down awkwardly while trying to escape the pocket in the fourth quarter. There was some concern that he could miss significant time, but the second-year quarterback is simply week-to-week. With Robert Griffin (hamstring) already on IR, the Ravens may need to call up Tyler Huntley from the practice squad to serve as Lamar Jackson's backup.

Set to undergo MRI
McSorley is believed to have suffered a knee sprain in Monday night's win over the Browns and will undergo an MRI to confirm, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McSorley went down awkwardly trying to run for a first down Monday and was forced to leave the game. The belief is that McSorley's injury is not season-ending, but that won't be known for certain until the results of the MRI are revealed. Baltimore already has Robert Griffin (thigh) on injured reserve, so the team's depth behind Lamar Jackson would be in an untenable situation if McSorley is unavailable for even one game.

Goes down with knee injury
McSorley left Monday's game against the Browns due to a knee injury, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McSorley tried to take it himself for a first down late in the fourth quarter, but his knee appeared to buckle and he went down in pain. Luckily for the Ravens, Lamar Jackson trotted out of the locker room almost immediately after and was able to come back into the game.

Set for backup duties
McSorley is active and should be Baltimore's No. 2 quarterback Tuesday against Dallas with Lamar Jackson also suiting up.
Analysis: McSorley saw his first game action of the season last week against the Steelers after Robert Griffin (hamstring) went down with injury, but Jackson is back after testing positive for COVID-19 and appears ready to start Tuesday. McSorley is poised to be the Ravens' No. 2 quarterback for at least the next three games with Griffin on injured reserve.

Trending toward backup role
McSorley is expected to serve as the Ravens' No. 2 quarterback Tuesday against the Cowboys with Lamar Jackson (illness) in line to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After testing positive for the coronavirus Thanksgiving Day and sitting out the Ravens' Week 12 loss to the Steelers while completing a 10-day quarantine, Jackson looks poised to return to Baltimore's team facility Sunday. Though Jackson will have to shake off some rust due to the missed time, he'll at least have the benefit of a practice session Sunday and a walk-through Monday, which should keep him sufficiently prepared to reclaim starting duties. McSorley came on late in the Week 12 loss to…read more

Likely to start if Jackson can't
McSorley will be the Ravens' presumptive starter at quarterback Tuesday against the Cowboys if Lamar Jackson (illness) isn't activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list prior to the contest, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McSorley currently is the only quarterback on the Ravens' 53-man roster, as Robert Griffin, the team's Week 12 starter, was placed on injured reserve Friday after injuring his hamstring in Wednesday's 19-14 loss to the Steelers. The 2019 sixth-round pick came on in relief of the injured Griffin in the contest, completing two of six attempts for 77 yards and a touchdown while carrying three times for 16 yards. If Jackson continues to test negative for the coronavirus, he'll be eligible to rejoin…read more

First career TD in loss
McSorley entered the Ravens' 19-14 loss to the Steelers on Wednesday in the fourth quarter and completed two of six passes for 77 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. He also rushed three times for 16 yards.
Analysis: The second-year signal-caller had just been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, and he was pressed into action with Robert Griffin suffering from both ineffectiveness and a hamstring strain. McSorley orchestrated the most explosive offensive play of the afternoon for the Ravens, connecting with Marquise Brown for a 70-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown. The appearance was only the second of McSorley's career, and with Griffin now hurting, the Penn State product could be in line to…read more

Activated from COVID list
The Ravens activated McSorley from the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: McSorley is in line to serve as Robert Griffin's backup during Wednesday's game against the Steelers since Lamar Jackson (illness) is on the COVID-19 list. Since being selected in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, McSorley has played just one snap.

Heads to COVID-19 list
The Ravens placed McSorley on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McSorley has either tested positive for the virus or come into close contact with an infected person, and he'll need to clear the league's COVID-19 protocols before returning to team activities. He'll be unavailable for Sunday's game against the Titans, but McSorley typically serves as a healthy scratch anyway, with Robert Griffin acting as Lamar Jackson's backup.

Inactive for Sunday
McSorley (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Eagles.
Analysis: McSorley has yet to suit up for a game this season, as he's the clear No. 3 quarterback behind Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin. He likely won't make an appearance unless Jackson or Griffin get hurt.

Facing competition for No. 3 gig
McSorley will need to battle for a roster spot this summer, SI.com's Todd Karpovich reports.
Analysis: The 2019 sixth-round pick had a roster spot all last season as the No. 3 quarterback, but there's no guarantee the Ravens keep three signal-callers again. Even if they do, it could be undrafted rookie Tyler Huntley who gets the nod over McSorley, depending on how both players perform during training camp and the preseason. On the other hand, McSorley could push Robert Griffin for the second spot on the depth chart.

Minimal action as rookie
McSorley appeared in one game as a rookie, taking one carry for one yard.
Analysis: Veteran Robert Griffin was entrenched as the backup quarterback, leaving little room for McSorley to even be active most weeks. McSorley had a chance to see some action in the season finale against Pittsburgh when Lamar Jackson was inactive, but he only played one snap. With Robert Griffin under contract for another season, McSorley has his work cut out for him in terms of remaining on the 53-man roster, especially if Baltimore opts to carry just two quarterbacks.

Could play in Week 17
Coach John Harbaugh said both Robert Griffin and McSorley could play in Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Analysis: McSorley -- a sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft -- has yet to make his regular-season NFL debut. However, the Ravens have locked up the No. 1 playoff seed in the AFC, so likely MVP Lamar Jackson, among other top players, will get a week of rest. McSorley played four preseason games, completing 56.7 percent of passes for 533 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
