Does enough to earn win
Hodges completed 16 of 19 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown in Pittsburgh's 23-17 win over Arizona on Sunday. He also ran for 34 yards on four carries.
Analysis: Hodges did a good job managing the game and avoiding mistakes to lead the Steelers to a third-straight victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. Hodges has a difficult Week 15 matchup against Buffalo, and despite being the first undrafted quarterback in league history to win his first three starts, he doesn't put up the numbers to warrant insertion into fantasy lineups.

Confirmed to start Week 14
Hodges will start Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The announcement comes as little surprise considering Hodges performed reasonably well during Sunday's win over the Browns, completing 14 of 21 passes for 212 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The undrafted rookie hasn't offered much fantasy production despite his solid work as a replacement quarterback thus far, but Sunday's game in Arizona provides a matchup against a porous pass defense that ranks worst in the league in yardage allowed (307.5 YPG) and opponent QB rating (113.5).

Solid in start
Hodges completed 14 of 21 passes for 212 yards, a touchdown and an interception during Sunday's 20-13 win over Cleveland. He added two yards on five carries.
Analysis: Sunday was mostly a sloppy, defensive affair, but Hodges made a handful of big tosses downfield. The biggest came just before halftime, a 30-yard rainbow that landed in between two defenders and into the arms of James Washington for a score. The undrafted rookie has been efficient but not particularly productive in spot duty this season. He'll have as good a matchup as he can get next week versus Arizona, which ranks last in the league in opponent passer rating this season.

Named Week 13 starter
Hodges has been named the starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Browns, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Hodges took over for a struggling Mason Rudolph this past Sunday in Cincinnati, completing five of 11 passes for 118 yards and one TD. Most of that production occurred on a 79-yard scoring strike to James Washington, but Hodges nonetheless has fared reasonably well in three appearances this season, averaging a shade under 8.0 yards per attempt while tossing two touchdowns versus one interception. He'll look for continued success against Cleveland's seventh-ranked pass defense (217.2 yards per…read more

Steps in for Rudolph
Hodges completed five of 11 pass attempts for 118 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 16-10 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Hodges stepped in for a struggling Mason Rudolph in the third quarter with his team down on the scoreboard. He connected with James Washington for a 79-yard touchdown and took a back seat to the run game while preserving the win down the stretch. Rudolph hasn't been particularly effective of late and Hodges has impressively posted a completion percentage of 75.9 in his limited opportunities. It remains to be seen who gets the starting nod next Sunday against the Browns, but it wouldn't be…read more

Back to No. 2 role
Hodges will serve as the backup to Mason Rudolph during Monday's game against the Dolphins, Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Analysis: Hodges stepped up as the starter Week 6 while Rudolph dealt with a concussion, and he did just enough to secure a win for Pittsburgh. With Rudolph now healthy coming off the team's bye week, Hodges has resumed taking reserve snaps in practice. The undrafted rookie out of Samford remains ahead of Paxton Lynch on the Steelers' roster, but he doesn't warrant fantasy consideration outside of the deepest of leagues.

Does enough to win
Hodges completed 15 of 20 pass attempts for 132 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Hodges stepped in for the sidelined Mason Rudolph (concussion) and managed to do just enough in tandem with Pittsburgh's rushing attack and stellar defense to pull off the upset. Coach Mike Tomlin was dialing up easy reads for his third-string rookie, rarely asking his quarterback to take chances downfield. In fact, one of the few times Hodges did let it fly, the pass was picked off by Los Angeles' defense. There is a chance Rudoplh returns for the Steelers' next contest following its upcoming…read more

Will fill in for Rudolph
With Mason Rudolph (concussion) ruled out, Hodges will start Sunday night's game against the Chargers, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: To back him up, the Steelers have promoted Paxton Lynch from their practice squad. After taking over for Rudolph in the third quarter of Week 5's 26-23 overtime loss to the Ravens, Hodges completed seven of nine passes for 68 yards and logged 20 yards on two carries. Hodges, who entered training camp as a fourth-stringer, probably will only get the one start, with the Steelers on bye Week 7, a scenario that should give Rudolph enough time to move past his concussion issues with the added time…read more

Throws 68 yards in relief
Hodges completed seven of nine passes for 68 yards and had 20 yards on two carries during Sunday's 26-23 loss to Baltimore.
Analysis: Hodges came in in relief in the third quarter after Mason Rudolph (concussion) took a shot to the side of his head. The undrafted rookie played well in relief, dashing for a 21-yard gain to help set up a go-ahead field goal in the fourth quarter. The narrative might have been even better had JuJu Smith-Schuster held on to a big second-down conversion near midfield in overtime. Instead, the ball was punched out, and the Ravens won. Should Rudolph miss Week 6, Hodges figures to get the start…read more

Added to active roster
The Steelers promoted Hodges to the active roster from the practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Hodges is set to serve as the No. 2 option behind Mason Rudolph going forward, with Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) having been placed on IR and set for season-ending surgery. The undrafted rookie out of Samford will turn his attention towards preparing for Sunday's contest against the 49ers.

Promotion forthcoming?
Hodges is likely to be promoted to Pittsburgh's active roster to back up Mason Rudolph, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Hodges' opportunity for the backup gig comes following coach Mike Tomlin's statement that Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) will require season-ending surgery. The undrafted rookie threw for 14,584 yards and 111 touchdowns with just 41 interceptions in four years at Samford.

Lands on Steelers' practice squad
Hodges signed with Pittsburgh's practice squad Tuesday, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Hodges originally signed a three-year deal with the Steelers in mid-May, but he was unable to survive the slew of roster cuts Aug. 31. While the 23-year-old didn't stick to the 53-man roster, he'll at least be able to stick around in Pittsburgh and develop.
